K-Klass – Rhythm is a Mystery

Of all the 90s rave classics, this one had it all. Uplifting piano, infectious and joyously meaningless vocals, funked out percussion over 4/4 kicks, even a sax breakdown on the extended mix. Jazz in the 30s, rock n roll in the 60s, dance in the 90s; we’re due another revolution next decade. But when it comes we won’t have K-Klass documentaries on BBC4. The album format didn’t really suit most of the heroes of this scene, largely cos most people were too out of their mind when hearing these records to ever find out who it was that made them and absorb their musical output. You couldn’t follow them on Twitter on dem dere days.  Maybe that’s why they ended up doing remixes for S-Club 7. But anything’s allowed when you’ve made a record as unspeakably beautiful as this.
